In just a couple of weeks one of the most outstanding PGA golf tournaments in the world will be coming to Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Country Club. This is the 11th year for the Wells Fargo Championship and my family looks forward to it every year. I actually volunteer and work the event for a couple of days and it is always fun to get up close with the golfers and I especially enjoy the conversations with the pros and their caddies as we work inside the ropes . I’ll be working as a laser operator and will be on hole number 5 on Thursday and on number 7 on Friday. A couple of years ago Dustin Johnson hit his drive 389 yards on number 5 and the PGA officials in the tower didn’t believe we measured it correctly and sent the Shot Link Officials down to see if we knew what we were doing . It was so funny to see their faces when they realized we had it correct and he had indeed hit it so far.
The Wells Fargo is just another reason why the Charlotte area is such a desirable area to live and people continue to relocate here everyday. If you are out enjoying the golf stop by and say hello and if you are looking to relocate to our area we would be glad to assist you. Give us a call.
Have fun and I’ll see you on the golf course!
Rock Hill continues to see tremendous growth and lately the commercial growth has been off the charts. Dave Lyle Blvd continues to grow with Academy Sports and recently two of my favorite food joints have recently opened…..Five Guys Burgers and Buffalo Wild Wings! Then there is the development that continues along Celanese By-Pass with the opening of Krispy Kreme and the soon to open Quick Trip station. These businesses are exciting additions to Rock Hill and just proves that Rock Hill continues to experience tremendous growth with more exciting opportunitie to come!
Curb appeal. I am lucky to live in a neighborhood where most of us work hard to have nice curb appeal and an attractive neighborhood. This time of year we all have spring fever and are planning what we need to be doing to get ready for warm weather. Here a few tips to keep in mind as you get your homes ready for spring.
* Prune trees and your shrubs
* Put down lyme and fertilizer in your yard so your yard will be the first to green up this spring
* Spread grass seed if you didn’t do it in the fall
* Be thinking about prepping your flowerbeds with pine straw or mulch
* If you are thinking about adding new plants check with a local nursery for help and guidance before you buy.
Keep in mind that people constantly drive through neighborhoods “looking” to see what is on the market so you want to make sure that your home is attractive and “The One” the people will remember.
We work with a lot of clients who move to this area for new careers. Lately, however, we have been working with a number of clients who are relocating to the area to be closer to children and grandchildren. Being close to family is so important and a value that many of us share. This area is a tremendous location to work, raise families and retire and there is so much available for everyone from kids to seniors. If you have family that has mentioned relocating to the area I want to share my website that has numerous useful links may be helpful to gather information on the area and to see what is available in the home market. I am proud of this area and glad to call it home so if I can do anything to help your family move into the area and have a smooth transition please give me a call today.

Homes For Sale In York County
Located in north central South Carolina, the City of York is a small community with a strong historic core and traditional lifestyle. Real estate options consist of single-family homes, condominiums and townhouses as well as land lots for custom building. A welcome alternative to life in the larger metro areas, York is experiencing the overflow of the rapid growth in the Charlotte Metro Area, less than 30 miles away. Positioned between the I-77 and the I-85 corridors, transportation is easy and provides excellent channels for local business parks and government. While renovation and restoration continue, new municipal facilities and road projects are on the horizon boosting economic development. The leisure and excitement of water play is just minutes away in Lake Wylie. With 325 miles of shoreline, the lake is ideal for boating, fishing and diverse water sports. Seasonal changes enhance the surrounding area’s beauty and allow for outdoor activities such as golf, tennis and bicycling enjoyment. Every year, York celebrates Summerfest, a widely anticipated festival that celebrates the community through arts, crafts, concerts, golf, tractor show and a moonlight bike ride. The annual Christmas Parade is also a favorite event amongst the 7,500 residents, inviting visitors into the historic century-old homes and churches decorated for the season. The residents’ involvement has helped establish a healthy business setting while preserving the area’s natural environment. A family-oriented oasis within close proximity to Charlotte and lakeside towns, York offers the best combination of traditional, small town charm with big city opportunities.

If you think you are ready to become a homeowner ask yourself the following questions.
1. Have you researched the market? Knowing what homes are selling for in the area can help you determine how much you should plan to spend.
2. Do you have sufficient savings to cover down payment and closing costs? Expect to have 3% – 20% of the sale price in the bank to cover your down payment, plus another 2% – 7% to cover closing costs.
3. Do you know how much home you can afford? A mortgage payment should not exceed 25% of yur gross monthly earnings. A home that sucks up more than a quarter of your income may lead to financial difficulties.
4. Is your credit report accurate? Inaccuracies on a credit report can cost you higher interest rates. Request your credit report from all three nationwide credit bureaus and report mistakes immediately.
If you answered yes to all these questions – you’re ready to consider buying!
